The Cooperstown Beverage Trail

As the former hops-growing capital of North America, Cooperstown has a long, rich legacy in beverage-making that goes back even further than its reputation as the home of baseball. Today, the area boasts a number of notable breweries, wineries and distilleries. Cooperstown Beverage Trail - New York State's first official cuisine trail - honors this tradition with a total of eight current beverage producers along 37-mile trail through Otsego County.

  • Bear Pond Winery

    Oneonta, NY

    Bear Pond Winery offers a well-rounded selection of New York State wines. The winery produces 20+ wines and carries wines produced from other New York wineries, as well as local beer, cider, spirits, honey, olive oils, vinegars & candy. Tastings are offered daily. We offer tasting daily, with a seating area to enjoy wine and food.

  • Brewery Ommegang
    656 County Route 33
    Cooperstown, NY

    Brewery Ommegang opened in 1997 to brew imaginative craft beers across a variety of styles, with particular emphasis and respect for Belgian brewing traditions. Ommegang brews nine ales year-round, as well as an extensive and innovative range of seasonal and specialty ales. The beers have won a national following by connoisseurs of fine beer and are distributed in 46 states and internationally. Ommegang is located on a 136-acre farmstead in Cooperstown, New York and offers free daily tours and inexpensive tastings as well as a 100-seat café, a well-stocked brewery store, and an annual calendar of public events including a summer concert series and a legendary beer festival, Belgium Comes to Cooperstown.

  • Butternuts Beer and Ale

    Butternuts Beer and Ale was established 2006 by owner and operator Charles Williamson in the bucolic Butternut River Valley. Brewing in a retrofitted dairy barn with spring water and NY state ingredients, Butternuts offers easy-drinking, approachable ales. The brewery cans four flagship styles year-round, and drafts seasonal favorites for beer enthusiasts and the common man.

  • Cooperstown Brewing Company

    Established in 1995, Cooperstown Brewing Company specializes in producing premium English ales. Their unique, baseball-themed brews are the perfect addition to your Cooperstown trip. Be sure to try the seasonal Induction Ale, highlighting annual player inductees on a collector’s edition label. In addition to tours and tastings, Cooperstown Brewing Company offers a family friendly environment with on-site games and events all season long.

  • Cooperstown Distillery
    Distillery: 11 Railroad Ave, Cooperstown, NY
    Beverage exchange: 73 Main St, Cooperstown, NY

    Cooperstown's first and only distillery producing award-winning, hand-crafted spirits celebrating the area's rich agricultural traditions and baseball heritage. Experience the flavor of 100% New York State Bourbon recently released. VIP tours and tastings offered at the Distillery production facility, tasting room and shop at 11 Railroad Avenue. The second location, the Cooperstown Beverage Exchange at 73 Main Street offering tastings of Distillery products plus a wide-range of New York produced spirits, wines, beers and ciders along with an extensive retail shop. In the evening  the Cooperstown Beverage Exchange transforms into a craft-cocktail bar and lounge featuring creative libations made with the Exchange's products plus Gastropub-style foods.

  • Fly Creek Cider Mill

    The Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard is a historic, water-powered mill on the banks of Fly Creek,just minutes from Cooperstown. For 161 years visitors have witnessed the pressing of fresh, sweet and delicious cider creating an experience that has become a tradition shared by generations.The Mill Store Marketplace is the heart of activity with sampling of over 40 specialty food products, many made right at the Mill. Daily tastings include apple salsa, zesty salad dressings, hot sauces, preserves, aged cheddar cheese and Mill-made fudge. The Mill’s Farm Winery creates great-tasting Apple Wines and Hard Ciders, all made from 100% New York State Grown Apple County Apples.

  • Pail Shop Vineyards

    Fly Creek, NY

    Pail Shop Vineyards opened in 2014 to offer locally grown, small-batch wine in a unique and picturesque setting. Its goal is to create distinctive and delicious wines from grapes that grow well in upstate New York. Visitors can gather around a handmade wooden bar, sample unique snacks and chocolates, and shop a carefully chosen selection of foods and wine-related items. Outdoor tastings and picnic tables are offered next to views of Fly Creek Valley.

  • Rustic Ridge Winery

    Located on the Bennett family farm, owned and operated by the Bennett family for over 50 years, Rustic Ridge Winery invites you to come and enjoy a laid-back country atmosphere.  Rustic Ridge features a diverse selection of NYS produced wines with something to tempt the taste buds of any palette from beginner connoisseur to wine expert.
